West Windsor, NJ - December 8, 2025 - Keep West Windsor NonPartisan was formed in the summer of 2024, to advocate against a ballot question that would have turned our municipal elections in West Windsor, NJ from “nonpartisan” to “partisan”. Our grassroots “Vote NO” campaign prevailed by a resounding 2-1 margin, reaffirming that residents want to keep partisan influence out of our local elections. We believed our mission was over. Unfortunately, recent filings suggest that individuals both inside and outside of West Windsor continue to push partisan involvement in our municipal elections.
Summary of 2025 Campaign Spending
Today we will look at money spent in the 2025 West Windsor Mayor/Council elections. Data is from publicly available NJ Election Law Enforcement Commission (“ELEC”) filings made on 11/24/25 (Sujit Singh) and 12/1/25 (Hemant Marathe).
Total amounts spent by campaign:
The Marathe campaign did not receive any money from any political committees.
The Singh campaign also did not receive any money from any political committees…until AFTER election day, which was 11/4/25. These were:
That’s a total of $12,189 of contributions from partisan political committees, 100% received and reported AFTER the election.
Post-Election Payments
The Singh campaign needed this money to pay the bills for costs already incurred, such as advertising, postcards, mailings, consulting, robotexts, etc., of which over $29,000 was paid AFTER election day. Obviously, the campaign would not have incurred costs without knowing that they would have a source to pay for it all.
Where the Money Came From
Additionally, you might think that the $7,500 donation from the WW Democrats was locally sourced, but ELEC filings show otherwise. While the WW Democratic Committee has not filed any ELEC reports that show the source of the cash, the Mercer County Democratic Committee filed a report on 10/31/25, showing a $7,500 donation to the WW Democratic Committee. The chair of the Mercer County Democratic Committee is none other than longtime East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov. This is the same Janice Mironov who spoke at a private pro-partisan “Vote Yes” event at Sujit Singh’s house in West Windsor during September 2024 (Patch.com Article October 2024).
So essentially, virtually all of the Singh campaign’s post -election $12K of contributions flowed from the Mercer County political machine.
Concerns about Transparency
The only plausible reason for these donations to be made AFTER election day was so the voting public would not become aware of them BEFORE the election.
When West Windsor’s electorate voted to preserve our nonpartisan elections in November 2024 by a 2-1 margin, they sent a clear message: partisan influence, including partisan funding, has no place in our local elections.
The Singh campaign, and the others named above who participated in this scheme, not only ignored the will of West Windsor voters, but also clearly went out of their way to conceal their partisan sources of funds until after the election.
Call to Action
We call upon the Singh campaign, and the political committees named above, to publicly apologize to the voters of West Windsor for their behavior.
